Centering Prayer Workshop Day
On 4th November (9am-3pm) JCC will be hosting a day to explore Centering Prayer with Kelvin Wright and John Franklin.
Kelvin Wright has spent a lifetime in Anglican ministry, leading parishes in the dioceses of Christchurch, Waikato and Dunedin, ending with a time as Bishop of Dunedin. He has a deep interest in teaching and spirituality and since his retirement in 2017 has been a spiritual director and retreat leader. He has been a practitioner and teacher of Centering Prayer for about a decade.
John Franklin has sat with Jesus for many years in the practice of Centering Prayer. He also likes to cook for family and friends, get soil on his hands, and when they’re clean, make music on his beautiful Yamaha piano. He is blessed with a very capable family, and delights in grandchildren. He founded Spiritual Growth Ministries in 1980, and is still actively engaged in spiritual direction, ministry supervision, preaching and celebrating in the Anglican Diocese of Dunedin.
They will teach this practice and will encourage us on how to add this into our faith journeys.
